Image
Publisher/Year: December 8th 2015 Delacorte Press Genre:  YA Contemporary Series: No Pages: 272 Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley (Thanks NetGalley/Delacorte Press!) Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5 I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion. *This review may contain spoilers!* Synopsis With her trusty baton and six insanely organized clipboards, drum major Liza Sanders is about to take Destiny by storm—the boat, that is. When Liza discovered that her beloved band was losing funding, she found Destiny, a luxury cruise ship complete with pools, midnight chocolate buffets, and a $25,000 spring break talent show prize.  Liza can’t imagine senior year without the band, and nothing will distract her from achieving victory. She’s therefore not interested when her old camp crush, Lenny, shows up on board, looking shockingly hipster-hot. And she’s especially not interested in Russ, the probably-as-dumb-

Mini Reviews #6

These are quickly becoming my favourite type of post! The Secret Fire by C.J. Daughtery and Carina Rozenfeld Publisher/Year: September 3rd 2015 Atom Series: The Alchemist Chronicles #1 Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley (Thanks NetGalley/Atom!) Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5 I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion. I went into this book completely blind, but with quite high expectations as a couple of youtubers I watch said they enjoyed this book. However, this wasn't exactly what happened. This book was so predictable and the main character actually really annoyed me. She was just TOO perfect, and it wasn't relatable at all. A decent YA paranormal book, but nothing new. Picture Me Gone  by Meg Rosoff Publisher/Year: September 5th 2013 Puffin Books Source/Format: Hardback | Bought Rating: 3 stars out of 5 I got this book for really cheap on The Book People quite a while ago, without knowing

Top Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don't Get

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted over at  The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is Top Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don't Get. 1. Vasilisa from Vampire Academy I feel like everyone loved her because of how nice she is to literally everyone, but to me that just felt fake and it got annoying sometimes. 2. Gale from The Hunger Games I just didn't get what was special about Gale, or really Peeta to be honest. 3. Cassia from Matched It's been a while since I read this book, but I just remember really not liking her. 4. America from Beautiful Disaster Although most of the time she was a good friend to Abby, I liked her the least out of the main characters. 5. America from The Selection It seems like I have a thing against Americas! But honestly, this one is a love-hate thing for most people, and I fall on the hate side. 6. Aria from Pretty Little Liars Of the 4 main liars (I don'

Series review: Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1-3 by Rick Riordan

Image
At the end of last year, I read the first 3 books in the Percy Jackson series, and enjoyed them so much! I've decided to bundle them into one big post of mini reviews for each of them. Hope you enjoy. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan Publisher/Year: 2013 Puffin Series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1 Source/Format: Paperback | Bought Rating: 4 stars out of 5 Synopsis Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. I never asked to be the son of a greek god. I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. Now I spend my time battling monsters and generally trying to stay alive. This is the one where Zeus, God of the Sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt - and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea. My review I was quite intimidated about this book series before going in to it, due to the popularity of it and to be honest the fact that it'
