Wonderland Reader

I thought my July 2020 TBR was ambitious, but I managed to read a total of 15 books this month! As well as reading all the books on my TBR, I also managed to get some great books out from the library like The Dutch House by Ann Patchett. I have a lot of reading to do in preparation for my 2nd year at university, starting in September, but this TBR is also me trying to cram in some time to read the books I want to read!                                                                                     - Classics - 1.  The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald : This is a book I have been currently reading, but it's been put on the back burner for a bit because of all the books I have to read for university. I really wanted a summer romance book, with all its cheesiness and no substance, and this was it! I can't knock it in any way, because I had a great time reading it. Normally I'm not the biggest fan of the romance being with someone the main character already knows, but I didn't mind it too much in this. I also liked the whole visions aspect, because it brought something new to an otherwise typical story. Now that I'm on my summer break from university, I find myself finally being able to read for myself again! However, I find it helpful to have some structure in planning ahead what I want to read, and I like to mix between older classics, young adult fiction and more literary fiction. With that being said, here is my (slightly) ambitious July TBR!      - Classics - 1.  The Law and the Lady by Wilkie Collins : This is the classic book I'm currently reading at the time of writing, so maybe I'll be done with it even before July! Collins is known for his detective novels, and this is no exception, but I was interested in a woman being the one doing the investigating for a change. 2.  Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare : I have slowly been collecting this beautiful Pelican editions of Shakespeare, and Romeo and Juliet seems like the perfect one to pick up next!
