Image
Book title/Author: We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach Publisher/Year: March 26th 2015 Simon & Schuster Children's Genre: YA Contemporary Series: No Pages: 384 Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley (Thanks NetGalley/Simon & Schuster!) Rating: 4 stars out of 5 I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion. *This review may contain spoilers!* Synopsis Before, we let ourselves be defined by labels - the athlete, the outcast, the slacker, the overachiever. But then we all looked up and everything changed. They said the asteroid would be here in two months. That gave us two months to leave our labels behind. Two months to become something bigger than what we'd been, something that would last even after the end. Two months to really live. My review This was one of my most anticipated books of 2015, so when the email came through with my acceptance from NetGalley, I wa

Top Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted over at  The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is Top Ten Characters Who Are Fellow Book Nerds. 1. Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series This is probably the most obvious choice for this topic, and for a good reason. Hermione is known throughout the whole of Hogwarts for being astoundingly clever, partly due to her constant reading. 2. Claire Danvers from The Morganville Vampires series I remember reading this series and really connecting to Claire in particular, as she isn't popular, but sticks to her books. 3. Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices I love this series so much, and one of the reasons is because of Tessa's personality and her love of reading. 4. Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower Charlie was refreshing to read about as I haven't encountered many avid male readers in YA literature especially. 5. Meggie from Inkheart I read this book

The time for lies is over. But the truth is more dangerous than Thomas could ever imagine. Will anyone survive the Death Cure? My review To tell the truth, the main reason for me reading this book was so that I could finally be done with the series. That sounds quite harsh but I was determined not to give up on it. I feel as though I have enjoyed this series a lot more than most other people, especially bloggers. It seems like most really enjoyed the firs

Top Ten Books That Celebrate Diversity/Diverse Characters

Image
Hi everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted over at  The Broke and The Bookish . This week's topic is Top Ten Books That Celebrate Diversity/Diverse Characters. 1.  The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky This book has really stuck with me since reading it a couple of years ago, and one of the reasons is because it deals with a lot of "issues", such as suicide and homosexuality. 2.  Wonder by R.J. Palacio This book was such a lovely thing to read, showing that there should be no judgement in the way that people look. 3.  The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon The main character in this book has Asperger's and I found it very interesting and enlightening to read a book from that perspective, and it made me think more about people who suffer from that particular condition. 4.  Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli This is one of the most popular books of this year so far

Just your average boy meets girl, girl gets sucked into hell story. My review I enjoyed Anna Dressed in Blood so much when I read it ages ago, which I think is part of the reason why I was hesitant to read Girl of Nightmares, because I didn't want the series to finish. However, this sequel was just as g
