Top Ten Of My Auto-buy Authors


Hi everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted over at The Broke and The Bookish. This week's topic is Top Ten Of My Auto-buy Authors.
1. Maggie Stiefvater

I own most of Maggie's books already, but I know that I will always buy her books when they come out.

2. J.K. Rowling

For this, I'm talking more specifically if she ever writes any more books in the world of Harry Potter.

3. Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus is one of my favourite books ever, so if Erin ever decides to write more I will definitely pick it up.

4. Jenny Han

After reading the To All the Boys I've Loved Before duology (review coming soon), I knew that I had fallen in love with Jenny's writing style and I will keep on reading her books.

5. Cassandra Clare

I've loved all of Cassandra's books that I've read so far, which is quite a lot, and I will continue to buy them.

6. Jackson Pearce

It's been a while since I've read one of Jackson's books but I will always support her career as I love her books.

7. Holly Black

I've read 2 of Holly's books and I've come to really enjoy her writing, so I will obviously be buying her next books.

8. David Levithan

As with Holly Black, I've also read 2 of David's books and he has become a well-loved author of mine.

9. Eva Rice

After reading The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets and absolutely adoring it, I can't wait to see what Eva comes up with next.

10. Rainbow Rowell

I've only read one of Rainbow's books but already I can tell I will love the rest of her books.

January 2024 Mini Reviews - part 3

Real Easy   by Marie Rutkoski Published: 18th January 2022 by Tinder Press I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way affects my review. This felt like a real departure from what Rutkoski is known for writing - the popular YA Fantasy series The Winner's Trilogy  - but this venture into Adult Fiction was gripping, and shows her range throughout ages and genres. I feel as though the whole "strippers being murdered" storyline is one that can be done badly very easily, but Rutkoski puts the stories of the strippers at the forefront of the novel, allowing their lives the be the focus, and ultimately the heart of the story, rather than the killer or the detectives investigating the crimes. The sisterhood borne out of circumstance seen between the women in Real Easy , including the female detective, felt very authentic, in loving but not necessarily liking one another, but always protecting their kin.
