Hi everyone! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted over at The Broke and The Bookish. This week's topic is a freebie, and I decided to talk about my Top Ten Popular Authors I Haven't Read Anything From.
1. George R.R. Martin

For the longest time, I was hugely intimidated by his books, but now that I own some of them I am pressuring myself to read them.

2. Sarah J. Maas

It feels like everyone in the book blogging community is a fan of Sarah's works, and I just haven't gotten to them yet!

3. Leigh Bardugo

I honestly thought I would read her Grisha trilogy soon, but the time has passed and she is already out with a new book!

4. Lauren Oliver

I have owned the Delirium trilogy for so long already.

5. Lauren Kate

The fact that they are making a film out of Fallen is making me want to get to her books sooner.

6. Laini Taylor

Laini has a cult following, and maybe that's why I haven't read Daughter of Smoke and Bone yet.

7. Melina Marchetta

Melina has written so many books, and yet I haven't picked any up yet.

8. Neil Gaiman

I feel so ashamed to say this, and I am hoping for his name to be taken off this list very shortly.

9. Marissa Meyer

I have wanted to read the Lunar Chronicles series for so long , but just haven't.

10. Jennifer L. Armentrout

Whenever I think of Paranormal or YA Fiction, I think of Jennifer but I just haven't read her books.

January 2024 Mini Reviews - part 3

Real Easy   by Marie Rutkoski Published: 18th January 2022 by Tinder Press I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley. This in no way affects my review. This felt like a real departure from what Rutkoski is known for writing - the popular YA Fantasy series The Winner's Trilogy  - but this venture into Adult Fiction was gripping, and shows her range throughout ages and genres. I feel as though the whole "strippers being murdered" storyline is one that can be done badly very easily, but Rutkoski puts the stories of the strippers at the forefront of the novel, allowing their lives the be the focus, and ultimately the heart of the story, rather than the killer or the detectives investigating the crimes. The sisterhood borne out of circumstance seen between the women in Real Easy , including the female detective, felt very authentic, in loving but not necessarily liking one another, but always protecting their kin.
