Synopsis

My review
I enjoyed Anna Dressed in Blood so much when I read it ages ago, which I think is part of the reason why I was hesitant to read Girl of Nightmares, because I didn't want the series to finish. However, this sequel was just as good and I can see it being a duology that I reread in the future.
I was a bit worried about this book, seeing as sequels are tricky business, but luckily Blake had no major issues in my eyes. It was easy to get back into this amazing world again, full of humour and adventure.
There were some really scary scenes in this book, less so than in Anna Dressed in Blood, I think, and I would've really enjoyed more, as when I picked Anna up so long ago, that was what I was really expecting: major ghost-hunting of some spooky creatures, and I wanted that to continue into Girl of Nightmares too. Also, I do wish that we got to see more of Anna, as she is a main character, but even with Cas' constant thoughts about her, it didn't feel like enough.
This book felt a lot more emotional as we are seeing Cas dealing with the aftermath of the events that took place in Anna Dressed in Blood, and with his feelings for Anna being stronger than ever.
Throughout this whole book I kept on hoping that this wouldn't be the end as it felt far too soon to let go of these characters and this world. I really do hope we get something more from this story in the future, but until that time comes, I will definitely be reading this series again. I really recommend this duology to anyone looking for a story with some great unique characters.

I really loved this series. It does contain so gore and strong language, but I would still recommend it for anyone who's interested in YA, male narrators, ghost stories, horror, or just plain entertaining reads. :D
