I am very excited to be participating in the End of Year Book Survey, created by Jamie, for the first time! This is a great way to reflect on the past year and let you guys know what I did and didn't enjoy.

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini (in a VERY good way!)

-Best series started: The Maze Runner by James Dashner
-Best sequel: Whisper the Dead by Alyxandra Harvey
-Best series ender: I actually didn't end any series this year (I know, I'm ashamed too)

6. Favourite new author you discovered in 2014?
Morgan Matson

7. Best book from a genre you don't typically read/was out of your comfort zone?
A Breath of Frost & Whisper the Dead by Alyxandra Harvey - Historical Fiction

8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year?
Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan- I stayed up all night to finish this book.

My True Love Gave To Me: Twelve Holiday Stories by Stephanie Perkins

10. Favourite cover of a book you read in 2014?
I cannot decide between these two:

11. Most memorable character of 2014?
Kyle from Beastly by Alex Flinn - I loved reading about his character develop from the beginning to the end.

12. Most beautifully written book read in 2014?
Let's Get Lost by Adi Alsaid - his writing style gripped me and took me on a wonderful journey.

13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2014?
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - this book really portrayed the essence of summer and it made me think a lot about friendships and how genuine some of them really are.

14. Book you can't believe you waited UNTIL 2014 to finally read?
The Maze Runner by James Dashner

-Emma by Jane Austen: My mum persuaded me to read this classic and I'm so glad I did!

-Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan: I loved reading about Christmas time in New York SO much.

-Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer: the fact I was essentially lied to for most of the book did make me very mad.



1. New favourite book blog you discovered in 2014?
Wonder Reads is a brilliant blog from the UK, that has fantastic photography and writes great reviews. I love reading all her posts.

2. Favourite review that you wrote in 2014?
Whisper the Dead by Alyxandra Harvey (read my review here)

3. Best discussion/non-review post you had on your blog?
My One Year Blogoversary didn't get that much love, but I think that I did write it well. (You can read it here)

4. Best event that you participated in (author signings, festivals, virtual events, memes, etc.)?
This year I participated in the weekly meme, Top Ten Tuesday, also created by Jamie. It has been so much fun and I'm really glad that I decided to take part in it.

5. Best moment of bookish/blogging life in 2014?
Talking to some really great people on social media was one of the best things I could ask for, and I just hope that it will continue into the new year.

7. Most Popular Post This Year On Your Blog (whether it be by comments or views)?
Beastly by Alex Flinn: Book review - this post got the most views this year. I'm not too surprised because I know that it is quite a well-loved book.

8. Post You Wished Got A Little More Love?
I do wish that My One Year Blogoversary got a little more love.

9. Best bookish discovery (book related sites, book stores, etc.)?
The discovery of Book Blogging has been a very good one indeed. This website has enabled me to introduce my blog to new people, and to meet new people too.

10. Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year?
I completed my goal of reading 20 books this year on Goodreads, and have actually gone past it.

Another Day by David Levithan

5. One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging Life In 2015?
I want to write more than just my weekly reviews and Top Ten Tuesdays.

6. A 2015 Release You've Already Read & Recommend To Everyone?
I actually haven't read any 2015 releases yet, despite being granted eARCS for some.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about 2014 and what I hope happens in 2015!

    i completely agree with what you said about life of pi. i read it last year (come to think of it it may have been 2013 actually?) and i know everybody loved it but i really didn't understand the hype i was definitely left feeling disappointed and a little confused!

    i also started to read morgan matson's work this year too. i've only read since you've been gone and i was a little hesitant to read her work at first because i know a lot of people love it (i truly thought i'd be the only one who would hate it) but i adored it. i can't wait to get my hands on more of her books now :)

    1. thank you! <3 I am so glad that someone shares my disappointment and confusion at Life of Pi! I'm really pleased that you loved Since You've Been Gone because it was one of my favourite books of 2014. I actually took Amy and Roger's Epic Detour out of the library but I didn't get round to it and I wish I had.
