The Mortal Instruments I honestly don't know why I haven't finished this series yet; I love what I've read so far and  own all of them. 2. This is the first of Sarah's books that I have read, or ever heard of, and unfortunately it will probably be the last. There was nothing particularly wrong with this book, but for what it was I expected to be completely immersed in the story, and sadly I wasn't. It was a decent thriller, but for me I really wanted to be gripped in the story, and that just didn't happen.
