Mini Reviews #1

This post is going to be a bunch of mini reviews for you all, because I haven't got round to reviewing them yet. Hope you enjoy!

BombBomb by Sarah Mussi
Publisher/Year: May 7th 2015 Hodder Children's
Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley
(Thanks NetGalley/Hodder Children's!)
Rating: 3 stars out of 5
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion.

This is the first of Sarah's books that I have read, or ever heard of, and unfortunately it will probably be the last. There was nothing particularly wrong with this book, but for what it was I expected to be completely immersed in the story, and sadly I wasn't. It was a decent thriller, but for me I really wanted to be gripped in the story, and that just didn't happen. I did feel sorry for Genesis, obviously considering the situation she is put in, but there was just nothing special about her or anything else in this book.

Powerless by Tera Lynn Childs and Tracy Deebs
Publisher/Year: June 2nd 2015 Sourcebooks Fire
Series: The Hero Agenda #1
Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley
(Thanks NetGalley/Sourcebooks Fire!)
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

The whole superheroes premise of this really interested me, and I had high expectations that just weren't met. For me, the superpowers weren't really what I thought they were going to be. I did enjoy the emphasis on heroes vs. villains and how some unlikely characters ended up working together. I did enjoy this book on the whole, but I don't think I will continue on with this series unless I hear amazing things about the sequel.

Boywatching
Boywatching by Chloe Bennet
Publisher/Year: June 4th 2015 Orchard Books
Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley
(Thanks NetGalley/Orchard Books!)
Rating: 3 stars out of 5

When I read the synopsis of this book, I expected it to be similar to  Louise Rennison and other British contemporary authors, and I was exactly right. I liked this book, but this didn't have anything new that I haven't seen before. The main thing I disliked with this book is that the girls in this book are supposed to be the same age as me, but they just seemed so immature! Maybe I'm just mature for my age, but I definitely wouldn't do half the stupid things they did in this book. I also found it a bit weird that the protagonist in this book had the same surname as the author.
